Twin Adventure – Renaissance Synthétique

Jean-Yves Thériault’s (Cœur Atomique, Voïvod) double LP is conveying audiophiles into a unique electro temporal trip between Montreal and Vancouver through the turn of the 1990s. Picturesque and cinematographic, this work is a collection of short instrumental and ambient pieces circling around highly melodic themes. This archive is reminiscent of Wendy Carlos, Vangelis and Clint Mansell original soundtracks. Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a Dream, Blade Runner and Wings of Desire fans will appreciate Theriault’s crazy universe, sometimes ludic, sometimes solemn, odd at best. Composed and recorded between 1989 and 1992; digitalized and remastered in 2021 by the composer.
